Trump Account Claim Checklist

Everything to have ready before you file IRS Form 4547 ("Trump Account Election") — the deposit is not automatic. Eligible: U.S.-citizen children with a Social Security number, born Jan 1, 2025 – Dec 31, 2028, claimed by an adult for whom the child is a qualifying dependent.

1 · Confirm eligibility (2 minutes)

2 · Confirm who opens the account

3 · Gather documents

4 · File the election

5 · After the $1,000 lands (optional but smart)

Watch for scams: the government will never charge a fee to open a Trump Account, and no one legitimate will call, text, or email asking for your child's SSN to "release" the $1,000. Only use irs.gov and trumpaccounts.gov.
